Wochit Case Study

Wochit is a video creation platform empowering newsrooms, editorial teams, and social media editors to capture and expand audience attention through the power of video. Founded in 2012, Wochit makes video accessible for all businesses to produce and share, at scale, across all social and digital platforms. Wochit is among the 2016-2017 EContent’s Top 100 companies in the digital content industry as well as the winner of both the Gutenberg Prize for its disruptive technology in the field of journalism and Digiday’s Best Video Technology Innovation for its positive impact on clients’ bottom line.

Project – Global recruitment – UK Expansion

Last year Wochit partnered with expand executive search as experts in the digital video space within the UK market. With continued success in the EMEA market, Wochit were looking to increase their headcount across the UK.

Wochit had a budget for 4 hires for the UK team, which would double their current headcount in the London office. To ensure they could embed the new starters in effectively, Wochit were to hire 2 Account Managers before adding 2 Business Development Directors to the team.

Each of these hires would work with clients in specific regions of EMEA and therefore it was key to find candidates who spoke multiple languages. Each candidate also had specific journalism/video experience. Expand provided a shortlist of 4 candidates per role, all candidates were interviewed for every short list presented and there was a 100% fill rate.

Expand’s Ongoing Solution

Expand have now entered into a global partnership with Wochit based on our Complete service. Once Wochit worked with us for a while, they appreciated the speed, reliability, and quality of delivery and sought to broaden our partnership as a sole supplier.

Having completed the four roles, we are now expanding Wochit on a global scale.
